WALK-IN-INTERVIEW

Candidates are invited for recruitment to the following temporary positions in the project entitled “Systematic Documentation of Traditional Knowledge Related to Plants Used for Food and AYUSH & Indigenous Medicine” sanctioned to KSCSTE by Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, to be operated at TBGRI. (Project Code – A 114)

1. Research Associate (Botany)

(Purely field oriented work in the rural and tribal areas of Kerala)

Age 35 yrs

Qualification and Experience PhD in Botany or M.Sc. Botany with minimum 60% marks and at least three years experience in field work related to Ethnobotany/Ethnomedicine and experience in Systematic Documentation of Traditional Knowledge and Preparation of database. Desirable – proficiency in writing scientific articles and books; good organizational and communication skill.

Rs. 15,000/- first year.

Rs. 16,000/- second year.

Rs. 18,000/- third year.

3. Junior Research Fellows (Botany / Plant Science) - 10 Posts

(Purely field oriented work in the rural and tribal areas of Kerala)

Age 28 yrs

Qualification and Experience MSc Botany/Plant Science with minimum 60% marks. Candidates should have good organizational and communication skill. Desirable - experience in field work related to Plant Taxonomy, Ethnobotany /Ethnomedicine, systematic documentation of Traditional Knowledge and preparation of database.

Fellowship (consolidated)

Rs. 12,000/- first year.

Rs. 13,000/- second year.

Rs. 13,000/- third year.

Age limit – calculated as on 1st January 2010 (Age relaxation will be given to SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Govt. of India norms). Interested candidates may appear for a Walk-in-Interview on 20-07-2010 at 10 AM (Serial No. 1, 2 & 3) and 21-07-2010 at 10 AM (Serial No. 4 & 5) at Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute with application, updated CV, original and attested copies of certificates and mark lists and proof of age
