Bio SaVvy – The SaVvy QuEst -2010

PEPTIDES mission is to engage, excite and educate as many people as possible, young people in particular, about biotechnology and its immense potential to heal the sick , feed the hungry, protect the environment and fuel the economy.

Concept of Biosavvy

We are in quest for an individual whom we can expose as an role model to others, who are in the plan to reach best heights in bioscience which would give inspiration to the aspirants. This is a national level annual competition where in the students are divided into two levels and the finalists from two levels will be screened by the panel of judges and will be awarded the title Biosavvy along with attractive prizes.

Our vision is to capture the imagination of youth, to inspire the next generation to learn life sciences and biotechnology , and transform the expectations of the  society such that all the citizens may appreciate the importance of biotechnology to the society. The vision is propelled by a strategic approach in national,state and local dimensions. The coherent elements of it include science-education advocacy to the audience to set high expectations for scholastic achievement, initiatives for teachers and creative outreach to students directly, and have an intense focus to procure those who do not yet participate in the field.

Through year-round programs we are generating understanding and awareness of biotechnology among the education community and building up the next generation leaders- we meet the needs of undergraduate and graduate students, teachers and industry representatives. The institute integrates all of its core programs that precedes the annual event ‘Biosavvy – the SaVvy QuEst’.

As we end up the successful second year with our vision on track and dawn into the third year we are back with our annual event which includes a real time research problem where in the participants are expected to explore it and come out with a solution.
