ADMISSION NOTICE FOR Ph.D—JANUARY 2011
Applications are invited for admission to the following Academic Programmes of the Institute.Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Tissue Engineering, Cellular & Molecular Cardiology, Epidemiology.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates with Post graduate degree in Physics /Chemistry/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/ Physiology/Zoology or any other branch of life sciences (excluding plant sciences) with 70% marks, M.Tech in Polymer Technology/Material Science/Biomedical Engineering /Instrumentation or Post graduate degree in Public Health, Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Veterinary Sciences, Statistics and Social Sciences with at least 60% marks can apply. Selection will be based on the performance in Written test and/or Interview. Those who hold UGC/CSIR/ICMR fellowship can directly appear for the interview
Note:
Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC is as per Government of India norms. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC and are applying for Diploma courses are required to secure only 50% in the qualifying examinations.
General Information:
Upper age limit for 35 years. Relaxable by 5 years for ex-service personnel with a service of not less than 5 years, SC/ST and sponsored candidates. Two candidates can be admitted as SPONSORED, in addition to the usual number of seats, for each course, if sponsored by Government/Governmental agencies or Universities.
Candidates with more than two failures in the University or equivalent examinations are not eligible for admission. Admission will be based on the previous academic records of the candidates and their performance in the selection tests to be held in the Institute during November 2010.
All scholars will be provided with single accommodation subject to the availability of rooms in the hostel. Application forms and Prospectus can be obtained through a written request accompanied by a Demand Draft for Rs.1000/- drawn in favour of the Director, SCTIMST, Trivandrum payable at Thiruvananthapuram. The request should also contain the course name and the details of the DD. Application forms are NON-TRANSFERABLE.
Last date for receipt of completed applications: 05th October 2010.
