helpBIOTECH Happy to Announce:

A DBT PROGRAM SUPPORT PROJECT SPONSORED SHORT TERM TRAINING COURSE

on
Advanced Techniques in Cellular and Molecular Biology

15th – 19th November 2010

Department of Biotechnology
INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY GUWAHATI
GUWAHATI – 781039

THEME

Last two decades has witnessed tremendous advancement in the experimental biology with merger of a wide array of scientific and technical disciplines. A humble beginning of simple optical microscope has emerged into high-throughput systems where large number of cells can be analyzed or imaged simultaneously in an automated fashion. Highthroughput techniques like Microarray offer a comprehensive holistic approach to investigate the molecular events in a cell. Renewed thrust on techniques which generate quantitative data over qualitative one and techniques like quantitative PCR have led to finest tools in experimental biology as well as in clinical research. Theses advanced techniques have found wide applications to study diverse life forms and offer flexibility to be modified to meet the requirement of specific experimental system.

This training course would offer an in-depth theoretical knowledge and extensive hands on exposure to several advanced techniques in cellular and molecular biology. This course is intended to sensitize the participants about the enormous potential of several advanced experimental techniques to enable them to utilize these techniques in their fields of research.
