1. Name of Post : Scientist ‘B’

Number of posts : 01(One) (at NCAOR, Goa)Eligibility Criteria : Essential:- Master degree in Oceanography/Marine Sciences/Earth Sciences or equivalent or Bachelors degree in engineering in Marine Sciences from recognized university/Institute with at least first class not less than 60% marks.
Desirable:- Doctorate in the relevant field (i) Participation in Scientific Cruises, (ii) Experiences in Vessel management and /or laisoning with shipping agencies.Job Requirement : To manage Oceanography research vessels (Logistics of the cruises and tasks related to acquisition of new vessels), formulate AMC of ship borne equipment, arranging mandatory clearances for research vessels etc.

Desirable:- Doctorate in relevant field.Job Requirement : Physico-Chemical and biological analysis of sea-water/sediment, Collection, isolation , culture and identification of microbes.

Eligibility Criteria : Essential:-(i) Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology related to Environmental Engineering or Master’s Degree in any branch of science related to Environmental Sciences or equivalent from a recognized University/Institute with at least first class not less than 60% marks. (ii)Three years experience in Research and Development/teaching (at Graduate and post Graduate level)/planning supervision in the field of Environmental Sciences.
Desirable:- Doctorate in the relevant field.Job Requirement : To conduct Environmental impact analyses and monitor the environmental health of systems operating in Antarctica, prepare documents pertaining to EIA/CEE and other matters.

(ii) Seven years experience in teach (at graduate or post graduate level) / proven research work in the fields of development in biological productivity/biogeochemistry.Desirable:- (i) Ph.D. Degree in the relevant filed with four year experience. (ii) Experience in plankton studies / biological productivity / biogeochemistry. Shipboard experience/operation of biological equipments / instruments.
Instructions
1: The qualification regarding experience is relaxable at the discretion of Secretary MoES in the cases of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, if at any stage of selection, the Secretary, MoES is or the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies.
2: Doctorate Degree will count as 3 years experience.
3: Age is relaxable upto 5 years in respect of Government Servant in accordance with the orders issued by Government form time to time.

4: General Conditions:
I: The number of posts to be filled may vary. the Ministry reserves the right to cancel the recruitment without assigning any reason.
II: The prescribed essential qualifications are minimum and the mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview. If the number of applications received in response to Advertisement is large, it will not be convenient or possible for the Assessment Board to interview all those candidates. So, the Ministry may restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of desirable qualifications and/or experience prescribed in the advertisement as per the specific requirement of the Ministry. No correspondence will be entertained with candidates who are not called for interview/selected for appointment.
Canvassing in any form will result in Disqualification of Candidature.
III: Outstation candidates called for interview will be paid to and fro second class rail fare by the shortest route.
IV: The selected candidates are liable to serve anywhere in India and outside.
V: Experience will be counted after completion of essential academic qualifications, while a completed Doctorate degree will be counted as three years experience. In case a candidates has obtained the above degree while in service only his/her service period will be counted towards experience and he/she will not get any additional weightage in experience for acquiring Doctorate towards total period of experience.
VI: Reservation for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC and Physically handicapped (OH, PH) will be governed as per Government instructions.
IV: The selected candidates are liable to serve anywhere in India and outside.
V: Experience will be counted after completion of essential academic qualifications, while a completed Doctorate degree will be counted as three years experience. In case a candidates has obtained the above degree while in service only his/her service period will be counted towards experience and he/she will not get any additional weightage in experience for acquiring Doctorate towards total period of experience.
VI: Reservation for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC and Physically handicapped (OH, PH) will be governed as per Government instructions.
