Applications are invited for the following temporary positions in the project on “A National Facility on Neurotoxicity Research to assist drug development” funded by DST New Delhi. The Facility is established at the Department of Pharmacology and Environmental Toxicology, Dr. ALM. Postgraduate Institute of Basic Medical Sciences (Dr.ALM.GIBMS), University of Madras, Taramani 600 113. The facility will have equipments like Transmission electron microscope, ICP-MS, Elisa reader, HPLC, Beta counter, ultracentrifuge, Thermocycler for PCR, gel documentation etc. and infrastructure to carry out in vivo as well as in vitro studies including provision for Tissue culture research as per international standards and guide lines.
1. Technical assistants – 2 Posts
Essential Qualifications Master’s degree in life sciences / Biomedical Sciences/ .Pharmacy / or similar discipline. Experience in Neurotoxicity research preferable. Should have knowledge in molecular biology techniques.
Desirable Qualifications Knowledge/aptitude in operating sophisticated equipments. Experience in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as in scientific document preparation. NET/GATE or similar test qualified.
Nature of duties Experimental studies in mammalian species such as rats, mice, rabbits etc. related to drug development and evaluation. Surgical procedures inluding dissection of rat brain regions. Biochemical and drug analysis, histology, immuno-histochemistry, neurochemistry, etc. All other research work related to the project
Emoluments Rs.8, 000/- pm + HRA Rs 900
Note:
1. A panel of candidates will be maintained to fill up future vacancies.
