A walk- in interview will be conducted to engage Senior Research Fellow (One)to engage under the project entitled "Regulation of fatty acid synthesis by RNA interference in Pig" as per details given below. This project is funded by the National Fund for Basic Strategic and Frontier Application Research in Agriculture (NFBSFARA) and IVRI is the lead centre. The project aims to produce chimeric pigs with reduced fat using cutting edge technologies viz., stem cell biology, molecular biology and embryo transfer. In this project National Research Centre on Pig (NRCP), Rani, Guwahali, Assam acts as the collaborating centre.

A. Essential Qualification:
1) Educational: MVSc/PhD (Animal Biotechnology/Animal Genetics/Animal Reproduction/Animal Biochemistry) or MSC/ PhD (in life sciences/Biotechnology/
Biochemistry/Virology/Genetics/Molecular and cellular biology/ Physiology)
2) Skills and techniques: working experience of techniques in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Genetic manipulation of cells, development of vectors, mammalian cell culture (persons with stem cells experience will have an added advantage), Western blotting, immuno-histochemistry.
Real-time PCR and other relevant techniques. Good communication skill demonstrated by research publications and good inter-personnel relationship.
B. Emoluments: For SRF @Rs 16000+HRA 20% as per ICAR norm
C. Age: Maximum 35 years (age relaxation as per rule)
D. Tenure and condition of the post: The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. PI will have the exclusive right to terminate the SRF without assigning any reason.
E. Selection procedure: Based on educational qualifications and skills/techniques known, evident through dissertation/research publications in the peer-reviewed journals only.
