IIAR invites applications for two junior research fellows (JRFs) and one project assistant (PA-II) to carry out ecological research under the project entitled “Carbon sequestration potential of Albizzia lebbeck in intercropping and co-cultivation systems with economic crops and plant growth promoting microorganisms” supported by Department of Science and Technology (DST). Research will focus on understanding temporal and spatial variations in soil CO2 efflux as component of carbon sequestration in woody legume trees intercropped with annual crop plants. Additional research will center on partitioning autotrophic/heterotrophic soil respiration, measuring diurnal CO2 fluxes and seasonal effect on soil organic carbon and using tree/crop non-structural carbohydrate analyses to understand fate and fluxes of carbon during intercropping.
