Applications are invited for the posts of three Research Associates and two Junior Research Fellows, to work in an inter-disciplinary research project in the area of Materials Science and Nanotechnology entitled ‘Processing, Characterization and Applications of Advanced Functional Materials’ sponsored by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi, under the University with Potential for Excellence Programme for a period of four years.
Essential qualifications
Three Research Associates: Ph.D. degree in any of the following subjects: Chemistry, Materials Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Polymer Chemistry, Earth Science, Geology, from a reputed university, and with First Class in M.Sc. and good number of high quality research publications.
Monthly fellowship of Rs 25,000 per month with HRA in the first two years and in the third year Rs 30,000 per month with HRA will be paid.
Two Junior Research Fellows: M.Sc., with First Class in any one of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology or Polymer Chemistry.
Candidates with NET qualification are eligible for the JRF with full scholarship of Rs 16,000 per month and additional HRA as per the rules for two years, and in the third year fellowship will be enhanced to Rs 18,000 per month with additional HRA.
If NET qualified candidates are not available, then the candidates will be selected as Project Fellows with a fellowship of Rs 14,000 per month with additional HRA as per the rules for two years, and in the third year the fellowship will be enhanced to Rs 16,000 per month with additional HRA.
The Fellowships will be for three years initially and shall be extended in special cases as per the requirement.
The selection will be held through an interview. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates appearing for interview.
