The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (NIPER) is an Institute of National Importance established by an Act of Parliament under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India. The walk-in-interview for the above post(s) shall be held on 07-09-2013 (Saturday) at 10.00 AM in the Convention Centre of the Institute. The process of interview may include presentation / seminar / test etc. Therefore, the candidates are required to prepare and bring a power point presentation of five minutes only.

NAME OF THE POST: TECHNICAL SUPERVISOR GRADE–I / SCIENTIST GRADE–I (TEACHING)

E. RESEARCH PLANNING / PROJECT MANAGEMENT
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE (Any of the following):
a) M.Sc. with 55% marks and six years experience in research/teaching.
b) M.Pharm. with four years experience in research/teaching.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
Ph.D. in relevant field with two years’ post-qualification experience.
JOB PROFILE:
i) BIOSTATISTICS: Teaching - Biostatistical methods, statistical methodology and modeling for public health and medicine, statistical genetics, and statistical methods and modeling for various diseases. Teaching of Biostatistics course for M.S/M.Tech./ M.Pharm./MBA postgraduate courses is needed alongwith conducting of practicals/seminars and helping the faculties in Masters Research Project.
ii) CLINICAL RESEARCH: Design and Analysis of Randomized Trials, Protecting Patients: Why and How, Recruiting Patients and Full Disclosure, Phase I and II Trial, Phase III Trials & Alternative Study Designs, International and Phase IV Trials. Teaching of various courses in Clinical Research at Masters level is needed alongwith conducting of practical’s/seminars and helping the faculties in Masters Research Project.
iii) MOLECULAR BIOLOGY: Molecular Biology in context of Bio-catalysis, Enzyme and Microbial Technology, Enzyme improvement and Recombinant Strain Process development, in vitro evolution. Teaching of various courses in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology is needed alongwith conducting of practicals/seminars and helping the faculties in Masters Research Project.
iv) INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS (IPR): Drafting, filing, prosecution and maintenance of Institute IP, assisting in Technology licencing/transfer and creation and maintenance of internal IP related databases, IP filing, protection and related issues; and good analytical, comprehension and drafting skills besides teaching.
v) RESEARCH PLANNING/PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Preparation of Five year/ Annual plans.
Monitoring and evaluation of research projects, liaisoning with funding agencies, preparation of Research outcome reports including Annual report etc., project planning, monitoring and evaluation in a scientific or technical institution besides teaching.
GENERAL INFORMATION
1. The appointment to these posts will be temporary in nature initially for a period of one year further extendable for another one year based on mutual consent and it does not provide right of permanency or regularization to any regular vacancy or otherwise.
2. The competent authority may relax experience and age for exceptionally meritorious candidates as per Institute rules.
3. The process of interview may include presentation / seminar / test etc. Therefore, the candidates are required to prepare and bring a power point presentation of five minutes only.
4. The candidate(s) must have experience in the relevant field / discipline, as advertised.
5. The applicants serving in Government / Semi-Government / Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous organizations must bring ‘No Objection Certificate’ from their present employer.
6. Candidates are required to bring detailed CV giving details of educational qualification, experience (if relevant) with name of the institute/organization etc., post held etc. alongwith demand draft of Rs.200/- (Rs.100/- for SC/ST/PH) in favour of Director, NIPER, drawn on any scheduled bank payable at Mohali / Chandigarh.
7. The detailed CV of the candidate(s) must be accompanied by self attested copies of degrees /certificates / marks sheets / experience certificates / caste certificate / document(s) certifying date of birth, reprint of important publications etc. The originals of the same shall also be checked before interview.
8. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in-interview.
9. Reservation policy will be as per Government of India rules. The candidates are required to bring valid caste certificate (latest caste certificate in case of OBCs) as per guidelines prescribed by the Government of India from time to time.
10. CANVASSING IN ANY FORM MAY LEAD TO CANCELLATION OF CANDIDATURE.
11. The names, addresses, occupations, contact info., email etc. of at least three referees MUST be given in the CV and they should be familiar with your recent work and at least one of them should be your superior. The nature of past and present duties is required to be mentioned in DETAIL in the CV / Biodata.
12. Candidates of only Indian nationality can attend this walk-in-interview.
