Senior Laboratory Technician

For RNTCP Project

Not Exceeding 30 years

(i)B.Sc (Microbiology)
Or
(ii) B.Sc (MLT) with 3 years experience in culture and DST

Experience in culture and DST for Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

3 years experience in culture and DST

1.Work under the direct control of the PI, NIRT
2.Training RNTCP personnel for culture and DST
3.Manufacture panel testing slides for EQA
4.Conduct on-site evaluation
5.Assist the Microbiologist in laboratory activities including Culture and DST and data compilation/ analysis
6. Any other duties allotted from time to time

Consultant Microbiologist

For RNTCP

Project 1-Post (Interview on 09.10.2013)

Rs.65,000/- Consolidated

Not Exceeding 40 years

(i) MD (Microbiology)
Or
M.Sc (Medical Microbiology) with Ph.D

Experience in tuberculosis Bacteriology (Mycobacteriology) with research publications

1.Work under the direct control of the Director /PI of the NRL

2.Conducting on-site evaluation visits to the

Stats and a sample of peripheral laboratories

3. Assist in developing capacity to manufacture panel testing slides.

4.Ensure Follow up action of CTD/WHO Recommendations

5.Conducting training for IRL staff for MTB culture and DST.

6. Ensure smooth conduct of routine laboratory activities of the NRL including culture / DST

7. Provide technical support to STDC for strategic planning related to the laboratory
activities.

8. Actively assist the stats in the collection, analysis and interpretation of data.

09. Facilitate in OR related to RNTCP.

10.Any other duties allotted from time to time

Candidates fulfilling the required conditions may download the prescribed application form and submit at 9.00 A.M. at NIRT, Chennai on the date of interview and to attend the tests and interview along with all original Certificate for age, qualification from Matriculation onwards and proof for certificates of experiences, caste certificate if any (for age relaxation), list of publications etc with a colour passport size photograph and attested copies of relevant certificates and a fees of Rs. 100/- (drawn in favour of Director, NIRT, Chennai) (only by DD from any Nationalized banks) (SC/ST (subject to production of caste certificates) & Physically Handicapped are also production of valid certificates) and Women candidates are exempted from payment of fees) at National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis, No. 1, Sathyamoorthy Road, Chetpet, Chennai 600 031. Late applicants will not be entertained.

• Knowledge in Tamil is a desirable qualification for the post
• The selected candidates will be posted to work any where in India
• The appointment will be purely temporary and on contract basis on a consolidated salary. The Appointee will not have any claim for a regular post in the Institute or in any Department of GOI, or under NIRT/ICMR or continuation of his / her service in any other study.
• Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates will be as per Govt. of India norms, subject to production of caste certificate.
• NIRT reserves the right not to fill up the above post without assigning any reason. The number of vacancy shown is only tentative and it may vary. No enquiry in this regard will be entertained.

• Mere possession of the essential qualification and requisite experience will not entitle any right for selection
• The salary for the same post may vary depending upon on the funding Agency.
• No DA/TA will be paid or attending the interview.
• The competent authority reserves the right to select the candidate or refuse any or all the candidates as its discretion without any reason.
• Any canvassing by or on behalf of the candidates or to bring political or other outside influence with regard to selection, recruitment shall be a disqualification.
