Duration of the Project: One year from the date of appointment, or as and when project terminates.

Consolidated Salary: JRF: Rs. 20,000/- p.m.

RA: Rs. 31,000/- p.m.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

JRF: M.Sc. in Life Sciences or M.Tech in Biotechnology with good academic record (Minimum of 60% aggregate). Valid UGC-CSIR/DBT/ICMR JRF qualification and laboratory experience in molecular biology. Previous experience in molecular biology and animal tissue culture with high throughput platforms and ability to work with a large team would be desirable.

RA: The ideal applicant should have a PhD in a relevant field. He/she should have a strong basic or computational biology background

He/she should have expertise in either of the two:

a) strong computational biology background, with demonstrated experience in coding using Perl, Python, Java or C++. He/she should be familiar with working in unix enviromnent, devising computational algorithms for data analysis, statistical data analysis in R and matlab and database programming using MySQL. Or,

b) extensive experience with molecular biology, animal tissue culture and biochemical techniques and good communication skills. Candidates with experience in cancer biology, and/or genomics-related molecular biology will be preferred. Hands on experience in analyzing high throughput data would be an added advantage.

*M.Sc. degree obtained after a one year course will not be considered.

Candidates reporting after 9.30 a.m. will not be allowed for the interview. No T.A./D.A. will be admissible for attending the interview.

If the number of applicants exceed 10, objective type written exam will be taken. Only students qualifying the minimal cutoff marks will be interviewed.

At the time of Interview the candidate should bring originals along with covering letter with statement of purpose and CV with contact details of 2 referees and submit the photocopies (attested) of the certificates, with a recent passport size photograph.
