Applications for assistants in Mouse Transgenic Facility under NaMoR project, DBT, Govt. of India

NCBS, Bangalore invites applications for assistants in Mouse Transgenic Facility under NaMoR project, DBT, Govt. of India. The eligibility criteria and pay scale of this position will be equivalent to that of Senior Research Fellow (SRF). Two positions are available.

Job Requirements:

Masters in any biological sciences discipline.

Preference will be given to those with good experience and expertise in molecular biology techniques.

Experience in handling laboratory mice / rats, knowledge / experience in transgenic / knock out techniques and technologies is desirable. Excellent organization, recordkeeping, and communication skills are essential.

Job Responsibilities

1. Generate, isolate and purify recombinant DNA constructs for generating transgenic mice

2.Genotype and phenotype mouse lines

3. Accurate recording keeping

4. Perform embryonic stem cell culture

5.Pronuclear microinjections, blastocyst injections, embryo transfers and survival surgeries

Contract: Contract will be for a minimum of 2 years with 3 months probation. Renewable.

Pay: Rs. 18,000/- + HRA (Senior research fellow scale)
