Department of Science & Technology sponsored project “Establishing a Regional Innovation Science Hub for Innovators (RISHI)”

Sr. Project Fellow cum Innovator (01 No.)

(Emoluments: @15,000/- per month + HRA; Upper Age Limit*: 32 yrs)

• Conduct frequent surveys and interactions with educational institutes/officials in the region towards identification of young inventors.
• Facilitate linkages between identified innovators and their respective mentors.
• Organize winter and summer sessions for the inventors.
• Prepare project documents and dissemination material.

Essential: First class masters degree in science with at least two years R&D working experience in the Himalaya.

Desirable: Good communication skills. Proficiency in computer application.

Candidates with doctoral degree may be given preference.

DST sponsored project entitled “Indicators of climate change in the context of Himalayan
forest ecosystem along an environmental gradient. PI- Dr. G.C.S. Negi, Scientist-“E”.

Junior Research/Project Fellow (01 No.)

Emoluments: @16,000/-p.m. +HRA for NET qualified person (JRF) or @12,000/- p.m. +HRA (JPF)

Age: 28 yrs;

First class Masters Degree In Botany/Forestry/Environmental Sciences/ Agriculture with specialization in meteorology

Preference will be given to candidates having experience on Phenology of Forests/Vegetation of Himalaya Extensive field work in the remote locations of forests in
mountains and rigorous lab. work

Project no-3:- Climate change impacts on ecosystem services in the Indian Himalayan region. PI Dr. G.C.S. Negi, Sci.-“E”.

Senior Research/Junior Research Fellow (01 No.) @Rs. 12,000 for JRF & Rs. 14,000/-pm for SRF +HRA as per Institute norms.

@Rs. 16,000/- for JRF & Rs. 18,000/- for SRF + HRA for NET qualified candidate.

Age-32 yrs;

First class M.Sc. in Botany/ Environmental Science/Forestry; Working knowledge in hill farming system and/ or climate change issue in the Himalaya (2 years for SRF). Basic knowledge of computer is also required.

Junior Research Fellow (01 No.)

@16,000/- p.m. + 10% HRA

Age: 28 Yrs.

First class Master degree in Botany/Forestry/ RS & GIS

Working knowledge of Remote Sensing / Forest Ecology / taxonomy

Candidates will have to work in remote forests of High altitude Himalayan region.

Earthwatch funded project- Assessment and Quantification of Forest Ecosystem Services with special emphasis on Pollination in the Indian Himalayan Agro-ecosystems. PI Dr. Subrat Sharma, Scientist-“D”

Junior Research Fellow (01 No.)

@ 12,000/- +HRA for JRF/Project Fellow

Age 28 Years

First class Master degree in Forestry Experience of work on forest ecology and forest ecosystem services in the Indian Himalayan region.

Candidates will have to work in villages and forests of Himalayan region.
