A walk-in interview will be conducted to recruit one Junior research fellow to work on a research project of one year and seven months, funded by Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, entitled “Molecular characterization of the viruses associated with chirke and foorkey disease of Large Cardamom in North East India” vide ref. no. SB/FT/LS-314/2012 under Dr. D. Pratap, (Principal Investigator), Assistant Professor, Department of Horticulture, Sikkim University, 6th Mile, Samdur, PO Tadong, Gangtok-737102

Qualification M.Sc. in Biotechnology/ Agriculture Biotechnology/ Horticulture from a recognized University. Research experience in plant virology and molecular biology would be desirable.

Fellowship: 12000/ + HRA as applicable per month.

Place: HOD office, Department of Horticulture, Sikkim University, 6th Mile, Samdur, PO Tadong, Gangtok-737102

Date: November 26, 2014 (Wednesday) at 11 am.

Duration: Although the project is for a maximum period of one year and seven months from December 2014, Junior Research Fellow will be initially appointed for a period of one year only and may be further extended subject to satisfactory performance as a suitable annual review. Please note that this post will stand automatically terminated after the completion of project or if discontinued by the funding agency, whichever is earlier.
