Workshop BIOINFORMATICS IN DRUG DISCOVERY
February 3 - 6, 2015
Bio-Medical Informatics Centre, Department of Biophysics
All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi
Last Date of Receipt of Applications: Jan. 13, 2015
Intimation to Selected Candidates: Jan 16, 2012
Bioinformatics has revolutionalized drug discovery, as it plays a significant role in the computational design of drugs based on structural knowledge of their target. The bioinformatics tools can be exploited for protein and enzyme design, protein-structure prediction, development of simulation models, drug design and drug discovery.
The first day will comprise a series of lectures on the various aspects of structural informatics whereas the last two days will focus on demonstration and hands-on-sessions on homology modeling and validation and receptor-ligand docking.
The workshop is fully supported by ICMR. There will be no course fee. However, the selected students will have to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements. Preference will be given to applicants from in and around Delhi and to those who can use these tools in their current research work.
Candidates currently pursuing M.Sc. are discouraged from applying.
A maximum of 25 participants will be selected. Selected candidates will be intimated by e-mail Applications as a very brief CV should be sent to biomedinfo.aiims@gmail.com
