Educational qualifications for the post of Assistant Professor (Except Music):
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR:

Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
2. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or a similar test accredited by the UGC.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (MUSIC) -Vocal (01) & Sitar(02)
1) Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level, in the relevant subject or an equivalent degree from an Indian/Foreign University.
2) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, candidates must have cleared the National ligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR, or similar test accredited by the UGC.
OR
A traditional and a professional artist with highly commendable professional achievement in the concerned subject, who should have:
(a) Studied under noted/reputed traditional masters and has thorough knowledge to explain the subject concerned;
(b) A high grade artist of AIR/TV; and
(c) Ability to explain the logical reasoning of the subject concerned and adequate knowledge to teach theory with illustrations in that discipline.

Only Visually Handicapped candidates may apply in the prescribed application form which can be downloaded from the college website.

College reserves the right to fill or not to fill the above mentioned post(s). The number of posts Unreserved/Reserved in a department may increase or decrease as per DU rules.

The Last date for filling up online application form is within 21 days from the date of publication of this advertisement i.e. upto 22 April 2015. The hard copy of the
application, complete in all respects must reach Daulat Ram College Office by Thursday, 30 April 2015. The College will not be responsible for postal delay.

General Note:
-
The direct recruitment to the posts of Assistant Professors in the University shall be on the basis of merit through all India advertisement and selections by the duly constituted Selection Committees.

NET Qualification is must as per the latest Supreme Court Order, vide dated 16th March, 2015.
- NET shall not be required for such Master’s Degree Programmes in disciplines for which NET or a similar test accredited by the UGC is not conducted.

A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and master’s level for the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Persons with Disability (PwD) (Physically and visually differently-abled) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching positions.

A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19 September, 1991

Relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent of 55% wherever the grading system is followed by a recognized university shall also be considered eligible.

The period taken by the candidates to acquire M.Phil. degree and the residency period prescribed for pursuing Ph.D. shall not be considered as teaching/ research experience to be claimed for appointment to the teaching positions.

The number of candidates to be called for interview for the teaching posts in the University and its Colleges, shall be determined after screening of applications in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the Executive Council in this behalf.

The candidates applying under PwD category may specifically mention in application their main category to which they belong i.e. UR/SC/ST/OBC for the purpose of computing the reservation.

The candidates applying under PwD category are required to submit the Disability Certificate in the format prescribed by Governing of India.

The candidates already in service must apply through proper channel.

The College reserves its right not to fill any or all the post(s) advertised.

Separate applications have to be submitted for each post.

Merely fulfilling the minimum eligibility conditions does not entitle the candidates to be called for interview. The applications received shall be screened in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the University in this regard, to restrict the no. of candidates.

After applying online, a hard copy of the same must reach the Principal, Daulat Ram College, 4, Patel Marg, Delhi 110007 within 21 days from the date of publication of this advertisement, complete in all respect with self attested copies of certificates, mark sheets, testimonial etc. Application fee is Rs 600/-(for general/OBC) and Rs. 300(for SC/ST/PwD) candidates payable online while filling and submitting the application. The fee is non-refundable.
