Applications are invited for Project based temporary position of Junior Research Fellow/Junior Project Fellow under the National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS) fellowship programme. The candidates willing to undertake research in challenging areas of the Himalaya and having required qualifications and experience may appear for walk-in-interview on dated 29 August, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at the G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment and Sustainable Development, Garhwal Unit, Upper Bhaktiyana, P.Box.-92 Srinagar, Garhwal-246 174 (Uttarakhand). Candidates appearing for Interview should bring original copies (with xerox copy) of testimonials, biodata, publications etc along with an application.

No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates appearing for the Interview.

Position: Junior Research Fellow/Junior Project Fellow (01 No.) under Ecosystem Services (ES) Theme;

Age limit: Maximum 28 years; Relaxation in upper age limit for SC/ST/OBC/Women/Physically handicapped candidates as per the rule.

Emoluments: @ Rs. 25,000/ p.m. + HRA for NET (JRF) qualified candidate & Rs. 16,000/ p.m. + HRA for Non Net-JPF;

Qualification First Class Masters Degree in Botany/forestry/forest Management /Wildlife /Environment Sciences/Economics from a recognized University

Desirable Experience in Ecological Modeling, Ecological Economics, Knowledge of Statistical Softwares, Specialization in Plant Taxonomy/Biodiversity/Forest Ecology

Nature of Duties & Responsibilities Generating first hand data set on various aspects of the theme's activities being carried out in the region

Place of work Uttarakhand but likely to be posed anywhere in IHR
