Department of Microbiology, School of Life Sciences, Sikkim University is
looking for candidates to work in the Department of Biotechnology (Government
of India) Twinning programme of NE-funded research project on “Studies on
Poly-γ-polyglutamic acid (PGA)-producing Bacillus spp. from naturally
fermented soybean foods of North East India and structural characterization
and digestive stability of PGA” under Professor Dr. Jyoti Prakash Tamang.
Minimum qualification for Junior Research Fellow (1 post) is M.Sc. with 60 %
marks in Microbiology/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Botany from UGCrecognized
University with CSIR/ICAR-JRF-NET/GATE qualification.
Desirable
qualification is experience in food microbiology mostly genotypic taxonomy of
microorganisms including Next Generation Sequencing techniques.
Fellowship for
Junior Research (JRF) is @ Rs. 25,000/- + 10% HRA per month for UGC/CSIRNET
qualified candidates as per the DBT norm.
The post is purely temporary and
co-terminus with the project. The duration of the project is 3 years (2018-21).
