Applications are invited for the following purely project/contractual-based positions. The candidate with adequate qualification may appear for Walk-In-Interview on 9th October, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. onward at G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment & Sustainable Development, North-East Regional Centre, Vivek Vihar, Itanagar-791 113, Arunachal Pradesh. Candidates appearing for Interview must bring all original as well as 1 set of photo copies of all certificates, testimonials, publication, bio-data etc., as detailed in the application form. Project Title: “Enhancing eco-cultural livelihoods in biodiversity rich areas of Arunachal Himalaya” 

Rs. 25,000/pm + HRA for JRF & 16,000/pm+ HRA for JPF 

Upper Age limit: 28 years 

First Class masters degree in Botany/Zoology/Forestry/Env ironmental Science/Ag. Science/ Rural Management/ Forestry/Social Sciences Or First Class B.E. or B. Tech in Agricultural Engineering/Environmental Engineering 

Experience in writing research reports, dissertation reports, Experience in Rural Development and RS & GIS 

Understanding/documentation of livelihood issues & potential Field based research, data base generation and analysis, reporting/Presentation 

S. No. 2: DST funded NMSHE-Task Force3 project: Junior Research Fellow/Junior Project Fellow (02) 

Project Title: “Forest Resource and Plant Diversity” 

Rs. 25,000/pm + HRA for JRF & 16,000/pm+ HRA for JPF Upper Age limit: 28 years 

First Class masters degree in Botany/Forestry/Environmental Science/Agricultural Science/ Geography/ Geology/Remote sensing & GIS. 

Experience in field work, writing research reports /papers, Experience in RS & GIS Physically fit to work in Himalayan 

Mountains Field based research, data base generation and analysis, reporting/Presentation 

S. No. 3: DST-SERB funded project: Junior Research Fellow/Junior Project Fellow (01) 

Project Title: “Assessment of floral biodiversity & resource utilization pattern with Special reference to climate change in high altitude wetlands of Arunachal Pradesh of Eastern Himalaya” 

Rs. 25,000/pm +HRA for JRF &16,000/pm+ HRA for JPF Upper 

Age limit: 32 years for SRF/SPF & 28 years for JRF/JPF 

M.Sc. in Botany/Forestry/Environmental Science/ Agricultural Science/ Geography/ Geology/Remote sensing & GIS with First division and 2 years of research experience for SRF/SPF Physically fit to work in the high altitude areas of Himalaya. 

Preference will be given to the candidates having work experience in the field of ecology and plant taxonomy. Experience in writing research reports, dissertation reports, Field based research in higher altitude regions, data base development, data analysis, report writing/ presentation skills 

S. No. 4: NMHS funded project: Field Assistant (01) 

Project Title: “Anthropogenic impacts and their management options in different ecosystem of Indian Himalayan Region” 

Rs. 10,000/- (fixed) 

Upper Age limit: 28 years 

Graduate in Science from a recognized University 

Experience in carrying out field/household surveys with communities in Himalayan terrain Physically fit to work in the Himalayan region Surveys (field/household), meeting arrangements, community networking, data entry work 

S. No. 6: NMHS Fellowship (EP): Junior Research Fellow/ Junior Project Fellow (01) 

Project Title: “Assessment of biochemical and phytochemical content of selected threatened and high value plants with diverse environmental conditions” 

Rs. 25,000/pm + HRA for HJRF &16,000/pm+ HRA for HJPF 

Upper Age limit: 28 years 

First Class masters degree in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Environmental Physiology/Chemistry/Microbiol ogy Or B.E./B. Tech in Biotechnology,Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Experience in writing research reports, dissertation reports, Experience of plant biochemical & phytochemical analysis 

Physically fit to work in Himalayan Mountains Collection of plant materials from study sites, Phytochemical and biochemical analysis of plant material data base generation and analysis, reporting/Presentation 

S. No. 7: Landscape Initiative for far Eastern Himalaya (Hi-LIFE): 

Project coordinator (01) & Field Coordinator Staff (01) 

Project Title: “Landscape Initiative for far Eastern Himalaya” 

Rs. 55,000/- per month fixed 

Upper Age limit: 40 years 

PhD degree in Life Sciences/Environmental Science/Social Sciences/Natural resource Management/ Forestry Or First Class masters degree in Life/Environment/ Social Sciences with consistently good academic record and 10 years working experience in areas related to natural resource assessment/ monitoring/management or resource mobilization /capacity development, other support to overall project initiation, implementation, development 

Experience of multiinstitutional/inter national project management; Experience of working in remote mountainous areas and with rural communities Good communication skills and computer knowledge. Ensure balance and linkages among different project components, stakeholders, both vertically and horizontally; Facilitate effective Implementation, Planning and Monitoring of Hi-LIFE activities, Coordination with national partners; Organize programme –oriented events, workshops, conferences, seminars involving diverse stakeholders Ensure timely reporting of project physical and financial targets ; Maintain monthly records of progress (physical/financial) and brief the same to project nodal person and the national coordinator. 

Field Coordinating staff (1 Nos.) @Rs. 18,000/pm fixed 

Upper age limit: 28 years 

First Class masters degree in Life/Environment/ Social Sciences with consistently good academic record 

Experience of working in remote mountainous areas and with rural communities Good communication skills and computer knowledge.
