Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary post of Junior
Research Fellow (JRF) in a SERB funded project entitled: ‘Analyzing the regulation of tapetum
specific TA29 promoter from Nicotiana tabacum’ under the guidance of Dr. Pradeep Kumar Burma,
Professor, Department of Genetics, UDSC. The project aims to characterize the TA29 promoter mainly
by carrying out mutations and analyzing the promoter activity in transgenic tobacco palnts.
Junior Research Fellow (one post): Rs 25,000/- plus HRA
Eligibility: Candidates having M.Sc. /B. Tech or equivalent degree in the area of life sciences/
Biotechnology/related field with 55% marks or equivalent grade and having passed
NET/GATE test are eligible to apply.
Candidates having prior experience in tobacco transformation and recombinant DNA
techniques will be preferred.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of interview after screening of the applications, date for
which will be notified to the selected candidates. The list of candidates called for interview will
also be displayed at genetics.du.ac.in
The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for one
year that can be extended/curtailed on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance.
