I. Applications are to be submitted online for admission to the following 2 years
programmes offered by the Schools/Departments of the University for the
academic year 2019-2020.
1. M.Sc. Genomics
2. M.Sc. Microbiology
3. M.Sc. Biochemistry
4. M.Sc. Biotechnology

(*The number of seats to be filled through the University Entrance Test (UET) will be decided after
the allotment/admission by the JNU,New Delhi. No DBT fellowship will be provided for those
selected through UET)
5. M.Sc. Marine Biology
6. M.Sc. Earth Remote Sensing & Geo-Information Technology
7. M.B.A. (Residential Programme)
8. M.B.A. Hospital Administration
9. M.C.A. (3 years)

II. Eligibility
a) Candidates should have studied under 10+2+3 pattern.
b) Candidates who are undergoing the VI Semester/III year (Non-Semester) of the U.G.
programme are eligible to apply for the P.G. Programmes.
c) The candidates should have successfully completed the U.G. programme at the time of
Admission.
1. M.Sc. Genomics
A Bachelor's degree in any branch of Life Sciences (Botany, Zoology, Microbiology,
Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics or equivalent), Physical and Chemical Sciences
(Physics and Chemistry), Medicine, Veterinary and Agriculture from any recognized
Indian or Foreign University are eligible to apply.
Students with B.Tech. Degrees in Biotechnology, Computer Science, Information
Technology and Bioinformatics with Biology at +2 level are also eligible.
Note: A minimum of 40% seats will be allocated to candidates from outside
Tamilnadu State (Residence and Institution).
2. M.Sc. Microbiology
A Bachelor's degree in science programmes where Biological Sciences-Botany,
Zoology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics, etc. is either a Major or
an Ancillary subject. Students from professional programmes such as B.Pharm., B.Sc.
(Agriculture) and related subjects from a recognized Indian or Foreign University are also
eligible.
3. M.Sc. Biochemistry
B.Sc. Degree with Biochemistry/Nutrition and Dietetics/Microbiology/Biology/
Botany/Zoology/Chemistry/Physics/Agriculture as major subjects.
4. M.Sc. Biotechnology
Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant areas of Life Sciences/Zoology/Botany/Microbiology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Chemical Science (allied with any Biology subject/
B.Tech, Bio-tech with minimum of 55% of marks in UG Degree.
5. M.Sc. Marine Biology
B.Sc in any branch of Life Sciences(Biology/Biochemistry/Botany/Zoology/
Marine Biology/Microbiology/Biotechnology or equivalent of a recognized Indian
or Foreign University). Candidates should have scored a minimum of 55% marks
in the subject (Part III) and 50% marks for SC&ST Categories.
6. M.Sc. Earth Remote Sensing and Geo-Information Technology
A pass in B.A. Geography, B.Sc. degree in any subject/B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch/
Bachelor of Town and Country planning with 50% of total marks in Part III.
7. M.B.A. (Residential Programme)
A Pass in any Bachelor's degree.
8. M.B.A. Hospital Administration
A Pass in any Bachelor's degree.
9. M.C.A.
Any Bachelor’s degree with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PH) with
Mathematics as one of the main subject at 10+2 or any graduation level from a
recognized University.
