Post Junior Research Fellow (JRF) 

Project “Molecular and chemical ecology of the biological pest control: plant-mediated RNAi-based investigation of counteradaptations of diamondback moth and its parasitoid against Brassicaceae’s glucosinolate-myrosinase defense system

Funding Agency Department of Biotechnology (DBT) 

Minimum educational Qualifications & Experience Masters or equivalent degree in any branch of life-sciences. With valid CSIR-NET (Life Sciences) / GATE (Life Sciences) / CSIR-RF / DBT-JRF / any other equivalent scorecard. 

Experience: 

1. Agriculturally important insects, their rearing, dissections and bioassays 
2. Basic plant molecular biology and biochemistry experimentation 
3. Gene cloning, recombinant expression and agroinfiltration 
4. Agrobacterium-mediated plant transformation 5. HPLC and LC-MS based analyses, 
6. Statistical analyses like ANOVA, correlation, etc. 

Preference Candidates with at least one peer reviewed international publication will be preferred Tenure of the appointment Initially for a period of six months extendable for further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project. 

Consolidated emoluments Rs. 31000/- + 24% HRA per month

Project “Molecular and chemical ecology of the biological control of diamondback moth: revealing the significance of the infochemical communication between bottom-up and topdown factors” 

Funding Agency Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) 

Minimum educational Qualifications & Experience Masters or equivalent degree in any branch of life-sciences. Candidates awaiting the final semester results may also apply. 

1. Agriculturally important insects, their rearing, dissections and bioassays 
2. Basic plant molecular biology and biochemistry experimentation 
3. Gene cloning, recombinant expression and agroinfiltration 
4. Agrobacterium-mediated plant transformation 
5. HPLC and LC-MS based analyses
