A walk-in-Interview will be held on 10 June 2019 (Monday) at 10.30 A.M. in the Department of Molecular
Biology and Biotechnology, Tezpur University for One (01) temporary position of Junior Research Fellow
in the DST-SERB sponsored research project entitled “In vitro studies to investigate the therapeutic approach
of editing the defective exon 3 of the human CHST6 gene associated with Macular Corneal Dystrophy through
the CRISPR-Cas9 technology” under the Principal Investigator Dr. Surya Prakash Goud Ponnam, Department
of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Tezpur University, Napaam, Assam.
Qualification: M.Sc. in Biotechnology / Human Genetics / Life sciences / Zoology / Biochemistry and allied
Sciences or M.E./M.Tech or equivalent in Biotechnology from a recognized University with minimum 60%
marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate having NET/GATE/BET/ICMR.
Desirable: Candidate having prior research experience in the field of molecular biological techniques and cell
culture is preferable.
Fellowship: Rs. 31,000/- (Rupees thirty one thousand) only plus HRA as admissible per month for the 1st and
2
nd year and Rs. 35,000/- (Rupees thirty five thousand) only plus HRA as admissible per month for the 3rd
year.
Duration: Three (03) years or till completion of the project or until further order, whichever is earlier.
Age: Candidate shall not be more than 28 years of age as on the date of interview. Upper age limit may be
relaxed as per the Government of India Rules.

sponsored Twinning project entitled “Development of synthetic derivatives of natural compound, Noscapine
as tubulin binding chemotherapeutic agent and evaluation of its synergistic effect with Taxotere for
management of human breast cancer” under the Principal Investigator Prof. A.M. Ramteke, Department of
Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Tezpur University, Napaam, Assam.
Educational Qualification: Candidate must possess a M.Sc. in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/ Molecular
Biology/Zoology/life Sciences or allied sciences.
Fellowship: Rs. 25,000/- (Rupees twenty five thousand) only plus HRA as admissible per month for NET
qualified candidate and Rs. 12,000/- (Rupees twelve thousand) only plus HRA as admissible per month for
Non-NET candidates.
Duration: Appointment will be initially for a period of three (03) months which may be extended further
depending upon satisfactory performance of the incumbent and co-terminus with the project.
