Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) on contract basis to work in a time bound SERB-DST sponsored research project (CRG/2018/001596) sanctioned to the undersigned at the Department of Microbiology, Central University of Tamilnadu. Details of the position: 

Project Title: Deciphering the role of Kinesin I heavy chain (KIF5B) in Tau hyperphosphorylation, aggregation and neurodegeneration in models of Alzheimer’s disease and tauopathies 

Monthly Fellowship: Rs. 31,000/- (for NET/GATE/ICMR-JRF/DBT-JRF/CUCET qualified) + 10% HRA 

Tenure of Position: 1 year, extendable annually till the completion of the project period, subject to satisfactory performance. 

Essential Qualification: 

i) MSc in Life Science/Microbiology/Biochemistry/Molecular biology/Biotechnology or equivalent with minimum 55% with NET/GATE/ICMR-JRF/DBTJRF/CUCET. 

Desirable: To carry out the research work in the field of cell biology, protein expression, molecular biology and animal studies. Candidates with good experience of molecular biology, cell culture, r-DNA technology/protein expression, will be preferred. 

Age limit: 28 years (to be relaxed as per rules of Govt. of India)

The shortlisted candidates will be informed to attend the interview on 12th July, 2019 via e-mail. If called for interview, the candidate will have to bring 

1) Dully filled application in the provided format; 

2) Two passport size photos; 

3) Original and attested photocopies of all certificates, degrees, marksheets (10th class onwards); 

4) Two recommendation letters (one from the present supervisor) and other relevant documents. Interviews will be held at the Department of Microbiology, Central University of Tamilnadu. 

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
