UGC: Will Review Quality of PhD thesis given in past 10 yrs

The PhD thesis submitted in the past 10 years in various universities is under scanner as the University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided to review them in view of degrading research quality across the country.

Not just this, the University Grants Commission has also instructed research scholars not to publish papers in dubious/predatory journals. In view of increased incidences of compromised publication ethics and deteriorating academic integrity, UGC established a consortium for academic and research ethics (CARE) to identify, monitor and maintain ‘UGC-CARE reference list of quality journals’.

With immediate effect, all research scholars have been instructed to use only research publications from journals indexed in UGC-Care list for all academic purposes.
