WALK–IN INTERVIEW for engaging Project Fellow on Contract
The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun invites application for Walk-in-interview for
engaging 02 Project Fellows for the Project entitled “Human-wildlife conflict
resolution mechanism in the Indian Himalayan Region: Risk assessment,
Prediction, and Management through Research and Community engagement
(NMHS-HWC Project)” purely on contractual basis for a period of nine months (Up to
March 2020).
The EQ, DQ and other details of the Project Fellow are provided below.

Emoluments
Project Fellow - 02 positions
Fellowship – Rs. 16,000 + 20% HRA. For NET/GATE
qualified candidates, fellowship – Rs. 25,000 + 20%
HRA
2 Duration 09 months (up to March 2020)
3 Essential
Qualification(s) (EQ)
Post Graduate Degree in Wildlife Science / Zoology
/ Environmental Science or related subjects.
4 Desirable
Qualification(s) (DQ)
Experience of working in the Indian Himalayan
Region, human-wildlife conflicts issues, Knowledge/
experience in abundance estimation, telemetry,
socio-economic/attitude /conflict surveys, and
conflict resolution methods. Knowledge in the use
of data analytical software relevant to wildlife
sciences
5 Task Description Undertake basic and applied oriented research in
the Indian Himalayan Region (IHR) including
working with local communities to address the
challenges of human-wildlife conflicts..
6 Age Limit Up to 30 years.
7 Location of site Field sites in the Indian Himalayan Region and HQ

9 Terms of Reference The fellowship tenure will be governed by the Institute’s
rules and regulations
General Conditions
1. The candidate should report by 0930 hrs for scrutiny of documents on 01 July
2019 followed by an Interview on the same day at 1100 hrs. The Institute will not
provide accommodation for candidates appearing for the interview.
2. Candidates should bring the duly filled-in application with attested true copies of
testimonials of educational qualifications research experience, along with
certificate of extracurricular activities, date of birth, mark sheets of all
examinations etc. All original documents/certificates must be produced at the
time of registration for necessary verification.
3. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
