Yenepoya Research Center Metabolomics/Proteomics JRF/PhD Student Openings

Applications are invited for a JRF/Ph.D student position, “Understanding the influence of noncoding RNAs and signalling pathways on skeletal muscle differentiation using quantitative phosphoproteomic and global metabolomic analysis

 Qualifications for JRF:

1. M.Sc. or M.Tech in any field of Life Sciences

2. Must have qualified for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) from CSIR-UGC NET, DBT NET, BINC and DST-INSPIRE

Yenepoya Research center (YRC; https://yenepoya.res.in//) is a premier academic research centre,to carry out clinical and translation research using cutting-edge technologies, established by Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Mangalore, which is among top 100 universities of India. The Center for Systems Biology and Molecular Medicine (CSBMM; http://csbmm.yenepoya.res.in/) a part of Yenepoya Research Center, which is focussed on applications of high-resolution mass spectrometry based proteomics and metabolomics and NGS based genomics to address biomedical research questions.

Selected JRFs will work in multidisciplinary teams led by Dr. Raghu Bhushan and Dr.Keshava Prasad at YRC and CSBMM. They will be extensively trained in cell culture work, noncoding RNA techniques (Taqman Assays, overexpression/knockdown of noncoding RNAs, 3’UTR assays) and other cell functional assays (proliferation/reporter/western blots), signalling pathways, sample prep, high resolution mass spectrometry and data analysis for proteomic and metabolomic experiments, maintenance of HPLC and a number of molecular biology techniques in context to skeletal muscle and cardiovascular disease biology

Interested candidates may send their detailed CV by email to: raghubhushan@yenepoya.edu.in, with the subject line as“JRF -noncoding RNAs,phosphoproteomics and global metabolomics”. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 15 days from the date of application.
