Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the position of Junior Research Follow (JRF) in the BRNS -DAE sponsored Research Project (54/14/05/2020- BRNS) entitled ‘Radiation induced enhancement of anticancer triterpenoids of Nilgirianthus ciliatus’ at the Department of Biotechnology, Alagappa University, Karaikudi for the duration of 3 years tenable at the Department of Biotechnology, Alagappa Univertsity, Karaikudi. 

Qualification : First class M.Sc. degree in Biotechnology / Botany /Plant Science or equivalent from a recognized University preferably with research experience in Plant tissue culture. NET / GATE qualified candidates will be given preference. 

Job Description : Selected fellow would be responsible for developing in vitro micropropagated plants of Nilgiriathus cliliatus at Alagappa University and for mutagenesis through radiation at BARC, Mumbai. 

Candidates with experience in micropropagation, and mutagenesis experiments will be given additional preference. Emoluments & Duration : Rs. 31,000 per month for first two years and Rs. 35,000 per month for the third year. HRA will be paid as per BRNS /Alagappa University’s norms. Registration for Ph.D.: Selected candidates will be encouraged to register for Ph. D programme.
