Applications are invited to attend interview (in-person / online through video conferencing) for a purely temporary and co-terminus post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the SERB, DST sponsored project on “Genetic diversity and biochemical profiling of Job's tears (Coix lacryma-jobi L.) accessions from North-east India – implications for evolution and breeding” at ICAR-NBPGR Regional Station Shillong, Umiam tentatively scheduled on 21st October 2020. Owing to the prevailing COVID-19 situation, candidates will be notified for interview which will be conducted either in person or through online process. The eligible candidates (appearing inperson as well as online mode) are requested to send their application in the enclosed Application form along with scanned copy of the original documents only through email to subarna.hajong@icar.gov.in on or before 14th October, 2020 (up to 4.30 P.M.). 

Application received after due date & time will not be considered for screening. After screening the applications, the eligible candidates will be informed by email or over phone for further details regarding interview. Original documents of the candidates appearing interview in-person will be verified on the date of interview and for the candidates appearing online interview will be verified at a later stage. The interview will be conducted by personal appearance at ICAR-NBPGR Regional Station Shillong, Umiam or through video conferencing. Details of the position is given below: 

Rs. 31,000/- + HRA (for first two years) Rs. 35,000/- + HRA (for third year) (1) 

Essential: M.Sc. in Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/Botany/Genetics/Plant Breeding/ Plant Physiology/ Plant Molecular Biology/Horticulture/Agriculture/Life Sciences from a recognized University. Candidates with M.Sc. (3+2 year pattern) in Basic Sciences should have NET qualification. 

Desirable: Working experience in molecular/ biochemical techniques.
