Recruitment of Scientists
1. Scientist ‘G’: Post: ONE Unreserved, Pay Matrix Level 14 as per 7th CPC.
Age limit:
Not exceeding 58 years.
Method of appointment: - Deputation failing which by Direct Recruitment.
Qualifications and experience :-
Ph. D. /Equivalent with original work as evidenced by patents or publications. Evidence of
leadership with 15 years experience of Post- qualification in R & D.
Desirable experience :- M.D. - Ph. D. with strong background in Microbiology preferably
with translational outlook for microbial resources.
Experience for Deputation: Scientists from Central/ State Governments, Research Institutes,
Autonomous Bodies etc.
(i) Holding analogous post on regular basis in parent department or
(ii) with 5 years service in Level 13A or equivalent in the parent cadre/ department and
possess the essential qualification and experience as mentioned above.
Job Description :- The selected candidate, in addition to his own research program is
expected to supervise overall activities of microbial repository and promote translational
research activities with academia/industries.
2. Scientist ’D’: Post: One – Unreserved, Pay Matrix level 12 as per 7th CPC.
Age limit: Not exceeding 45 years.
Method of appointment: - Deputation failing which by Direct Recruitment.
Essential Qualifications and experience: -
1
st class or equivalent in M. Tech./M.D./M. V. Sc./M. Pharm OR M.Sc. with Ph.D. with
original work as evidenced by patents or publications. Evidence of leadership with 9 years’
experience in R & D OR Ph.D. with at least five years research experience in the relevant
subject.
Desirable experience:- Extensive experience in microbial taxonomy, ecology and experience
in International Depository Authority operations.
Experience for Deputation: - Scientists from Central/State Governments, Research Institutes,
Autonomous Bodies etc.
(i) Holding analogous post on regular basis in parent Department or
(ii) With 5 years' service in Level 11 or equivalent in the parent cadre/ Department and
possess the essential qualification & experience as mentioned above.
Job Description
1. Overall supervision of activities in microbial repository and IDA developing long term
vision and strategic priorities including improving and expanding the scope of services
offered by microbial repository and obtaining accreditations like ISO and NABL.
2. Support activities of Repository in the areas of Microbial Ecology, Taxonomy and
International Depositary Authority.
3. Scientist ’D’: Total Posts: 6 Nos. OBC (3), SC(2), ST (1), Pay Matrix level 12 as per 7th
CPC.
Age limit: Not exceeding 45 years.

Job Description
1 Four years’ research experience in the
area of Metabolic disorders including
cardiovascular disease, diabetes,
musculoskeletal disease, obesity and
hypertension.
Developing areas of
metabolic disease, animal
model systems and perform
cutting edge research
including basic and advanced
techniques.
2 Four years research experience in
Microbiome/Antimicrobial Resistance in
bacteria.
Overall supervision of
activities in microbial
repository and developing

priorities including improving
and expanding the scope of
services offered by microbial
repository and obtaining
accreditations like ISO and

Perform research in the
frontier areas of
Microbiology such as
Microbiome/ Genomics.

Microbiome Taxonomy, development of
techniques for the growth and
identification of “not yet cultured”
bacteria.

Perform research in the

Molecular Immunology &
Immunometabolism.
Perform research in the areas
of Immunometabolism or
immunopathogenesis.
5 Four years research experience in Cell
and Tissue Engineering, organoid
generation, organelle biology.
Perform research in the areas
of Cell and Tissue
Engineering and organoid
generation.
6 Four years research experience in Cancer
Biology.
Perform research in the areas
of cancer biology of solid
tumors and haematological
malignancies and
chemotherapy.
4. Scientist ‘C’: Post: One – Reserved for SC, Pay Matrix level 11
Age limit: Not exceeding 40 years.

Essential Qualifications and experience: -

st class or equivalent in M.Tech./M.D./M.V.Sc./M.Pharm, M.Sc. with 5 years’ experience
OR Ph.D. with original work as evidenced by patents or publications. Evidence of
leadership with about 4 years’ experience in R & D.
Desirable experience :- Experience in the area of microbial taxonomy/ecology AMR.

Autonomous Bodies etc.

Job Description -
1. Contribute to the activities of Identification, authentication and curation of cultures
