PhD student position are available in the laboratory headed by Dr. Anil Kumar Verma, Assistant Professor at the Department of Microbiology, Sikkim University

The laboratoy focuses on experimentally
addressing fundamental problems in Carbohydrate Active Enzyme based degradation
of Lignocellulose. Reseach lab works on the different aspect of industrially
valuable microbial enzymes/ novel strain their structure functional
relationship, molecular cloning and site-directed mutagenesis for enhancing the
efficiency. State-of-the art and
advanced methodologies are applied in a helthy professional research
environment.
Qualification requirements
In
order to meet the general entry
requirements, the minimum requirements are the applicant must have completed
their M.Sc in Microbiology or related Field with minimum of 60% mark with
JRF/LS NET from CSIR/UGC/DBT/DST or GATE being desirable. (Non-NET and GATE
applicant having good research exposure also encourage to apply)
The qualification requirements
must be met by the deadline for applications.
Selection
The candidates will be accessed based on their knowledge in a relevant field of research, previous experience/dissertation and grades, candidate’s written test (for non-NET and non-GATE applicant) and personal interviews.
