Centre for Marine Living Resources and Ecology (CMLRE), a premier R&D institute and an
attached office of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, is undertaking research activities in the
areas of Marine Living Resources and Ecology including the ecosystem processes for the
development of marine ecosystem management strategies towards sustainable utilization of
resources.
To strengthen its activities, CMLRE is inviting applications for the following

Coordinate and implement the biodiversity studies, taxonomy and

General conditions:
1) The last date for online submission of application is 17th August, 2021 by 05:00 PM IST.
The last date is the cutoff date for all purposes including Age/Qualification/experience
etc.
2) All project positions are purely temporary and on project mode and do not entitle the
candidate for any claim for regular/ permanent position at any time.
3) Age relaxation in case of SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PH/other relaxation category candidates will
be as per Government of India norms.
4) The competent authority may consider five (05) years age relaxation for candidates
possessing minimum three years’ work experience in Government/Autonomous bodies
in case a relationship could be established that the service already rendered in a
particular post will be useful for the efficient discharge of the duties of post mentioned in
the advertisement.
5) Canvassing in any form and /or bringing any influence, political or otherwise will be
treated as disqualification of candidature. No interim correspondence/inquiry will be
entertained.
6) Candidates working in Government/Public Sector Undertakings/ Autonomous bodies
must produce the requisite ‘No Objection Certificate’ from their employer at the time of

7) The prescribed essential qualifications are minimum and the mere possession of the
same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview. If the number of applications
received in response to advertisement is large, it will not be convenient or possible for
the Selection Board to interview all those candidates. The Centre may restrict the
number of candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable limit of desirable
qualification and /or on the record of academic performance and /or relevant experience
for the post prescribed or suitability as per the job requirement mentioned in the
advertisement as per the specific requirement of the Centre and/or any other benchmark
decided by a committee constituted to screen the applications. No correspondence will
be entertained with candidates who are not called for Interview.
8) Experience will be counted after completion of essential academic qualifications, while a
doctoral degree will be counted as three years’ experience wherever the doctorate is not
mentioned as the essential qualification.
9) In case a candidate has obtained the above degree while in service only his/her service
period will be counted towards experience and he/she will not get any additional
weightage in experience for acquiring Doctorate towards total period of experience.
10) Discrepancies found in the certificate or concealing of facts will attract the disqualification
of application/termination/disqualification from future recruitments (as applicable). Nonproduction of the original certificates at the time of interview will also make the candidate
disqualified.
11) Candidate’s currently working in any other organization need to provide the proof of their
current employment with a service/experience certificate from the employer.
Appointment order will not be considered as proof of current employment.
12) Online application submitted without the photo, signature and scanned copies of the
certificates will be rejected.
13) The selection for the posts shall be on the basis of performance of the screened-in
candidates in the interview. Director, CMLRE reserves the right to decide on the mode of interview either online/offline and in case of online mode through any available online
video conferencing mode.
14) Travel: No TA/DA will be paid for attending interview/written examination.
15) The candidates need to make their own stay arrangements. CMLRE will not be
responsible for any accommodation arrangements.
16) Director, CMLRE has the right to cancel the recruitment process either fully or partially at
any stage, without assigning any reason thereof or vary the number of posts to be filled
under each category.
17) Number of vacancies advertised is tentative and the same may increase or decrease on
the basis of the project requirement.
18) Director, CMLRE reserves the right to consider a candidate for lower post/grade on the
basis of the assessment during the selection process irrespective of the post for which
candidate had applied.
19) Selected candidates will be offered appointment initially for one year and extension
thereafter would be based on periodical performance review, for a period up to March
2026 or co-terminus with the project.
20) At present, the place of posting is at CMLRE, Kochi or its Field Research Station, Agatti,
Lakshadweep with transfer liability to any part of India.
21) The monthly emolument specified is approximate and may vary as per the guidelines
issued by Competent Authority from time to time.
