Online applications are invited in the prescribed format available on the websites of ICMRNIMR, through link http://apply.nimr.org.in/ up to 05:00 PM by 26th August 2021 for filling up the following posts under the project entitled below on contractual basis at ICMRNIMR, Sector8, Dwarka, New Delhi. After screening of applications, only shortlisted applicants will be called for interview. The PI laboratory is working under lab-to-field model and mainly focused to understand molecular and functional correlation of genetic and nongenetic/environmental factors affecting mosquito’s behavioral physiologies, and immunity. We are looking to select and engage highly skilled and experienced personnel to work in the below mentioned project having translational values for vector control: 

Project Title “Studies on bionomics and behavior of vectors in relation to transmission of malaria and its control/elimination in Bareilly, UP, India” (Duration 02 years) 

1 Project Research Scientist II 01 (UR) 

Rs. 48,000/- + HRA as per rules 

Essential Qualification: 1st class Master’s Degree in Life Science from recognized university with two years’ experience in related field OR 2nd class Master’s degree with Ph.D. in relevant subject from recognized university. 

Desirable: -The applicant must have demonstrated track record of research work in the field of Insect/mosquito biology, especially functional genomics 35 Years -Having at least one first authored publication in the indexed journal. 

Duties/Responsibilities: The selected would be key personnel for the overall management of the project and would be responsible to carry out and manage the laboratory as well as field work, collect/identify the wild mosquito species, perform laboratory based bioassays such as insecticide susceptibility test, Plasmodium infection, and functional genomics studies to correlate various phenotype laboratory vs. field caught mosquitoes, if any; data analysis, presentation, Project report, article drafting, and other conceptual hypothesis/idea contribution to the development in terms of vector control 

2 Senior Project Fellow 01 (UR) 

Rs. 35,000/- + HRA as per rules 

Essential Qualifications : (Post Graduate Degree in basic science OR Post Graduate Degree in professional course) AND two years’ research experience. 

Desirable: -The applicant must have demonstrated track record of research work in the field of Insect/mosquito biology, especially functional genomics, -Preference would be given candidate having at least one first authored publication in the indexed journal or have completed Ph.D. (at least Thesis Submitted) in the relevant field of mosquito biology. 

Duties/Responsibilities: The selected personnel would be responsible to carry out and manage/establish mosquito inventory through preservation of wild caught mosquitoes, rearing 35 Years for Male and 37 Years for Female of wild caught mosquitoes, if applicable; In addition to perform laboratory based bioassays such as insecticide susceptibility test, Plasmodium infection, the candidate is also expected to support functional genomics studies such as tissue dissection, processing, Gene profiling, and quality evaluation of gene profiling data, functional knockout experimentation etc. 

3 Project Technical Support III 02 (1-SC,1-UR) 

18,000/- 

Essential Qualifications:12th pass in Science subjects and two years 

Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician OR PMW OR Radiology/Radiography OR related subject) OR One year DMLT plus one year required experience in a recognized organization OR two years Field/Laboratory experience B. Sc degree shall be treated as 03 years’ experience. 

Desirable: -The preference would be given to candidate having justifiable knowledge & experience in the mosquito/insect collection, preservation, identification of vectors of public health importance; Rearing and colony maintenance Entomological and epidemiological surveillance Bioassay for evaluating insecticide resistance -Experience in laboratory work, PCR, ELISA etc. Knowledge of computer application. Duties/Responsibilities:Selected candidates would be key personnel of entomological surveillance team, and visit to 30 years site of mosquito collection, assist with laboratory work for mosquito identification, bioassay evaluation, data collection, presentation, analysis, and data record maintenance 

4 Insect Collector 02 (1-EWS,1-UR) 

Rs. 16,000/- + 10% increase every year 

Essential Qualifications: High School* OR equivalent with one-year experience in related field of insect biology from a Government institution or recognized institute or certificate of one year training in the relevant area OR ITI or National Trade Certificate of National Council for Vocational Training and successful completion of ATS in relevant trade from a Government recognized board. Intermediate with science subjects shall be treated as equivalent to 2 years’ experience. 

Desirable: Experience in insect collection, field survey experience in vector borne disease, Identification, rearing and maintenance are highly desirable. Duties/Responsibilities: Selected candidates would be key personnel of entomological surveillance team, and visit to site of insect/mosquito collection, identification, and other project related activities such as data entry, record maintenance etc. 25 Years
