Applications are invited on prescribed format (Walk-in Interview / On-line) for the temporary post of "Junior Research Fellow (JRF)” for the Project entitled “Molecular Phylogeny of microbial assemblages of the seawater cooling system of a nuclear power plant” Selected candidate may enroll in Ph.D. Programme in the Department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering (BM), National Institute of Technology Rourkela based on Institute norms and regulations.

6. Job Description The project student (likely to be converted as a PhD student) will be involved in microbial diversity analysis by Next Generation Sequencing Technology. Microbial and molecular techniques will be involved. Bioinformatic software will be required for sequence analysis. Moreover, biofilm formation and controlling mechanisms will be involved here. 

7. Consolidated monthly Fellowship i) 1 st Year ii) 2 nd Year iii) 2 nd Year Rs. 31,000.00 Rs. 31,000.00 Rs. 35,000.00 Based on the performance of the research work the fellowship will be converted in to Institute fellowship as per Institute rule. 

8. Essential Qualifications and experience B.Tech with GATE/M.E./M. Tech degree in Biotech with specialization in Biotechnology,/ Environmental Engineering/ Environmental Biotechnology, or similar fields with above 65% (7 CGPA) of marks. 

9. Desirable Qualifications/ Experiences Experience on Molecular Biology, Environmental Biotechnology and Microbiology is desirable for Biotech background students. GATE score will be preferred.
