Aravind Medical Research Foundation (AMRF), Madurai is a multidisciplinary research institute,
recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by Department of Scientific and
Industrial Research (DSIR), Govt. of India, which conducts basic research to gain insights about vision
science and commitment to finding new ways to reduce the burden of blindness.
AMRF is recognized for
Ph.D. by Madurai Kamaraj University, Alagappa University and SASTRA University.
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work at
the Department of Immunology and Stem Cell Biology in an ICMR funded project entitled, “Molecular
characterization of human retinal pigment epithelial stem cells and their role in age-related macular
degeneration”.
Required Qualification: Post Graduate degree in Basic Science or Post Graduate degree in Professional
Course selected through a process prescribed through any one of the following:
a. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including
lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
b. The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government
Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD,
ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.

Selected candidates will be paid fellowship as per the ICMR norms.
