Applications are invited for One (1) post of Project Assistant funded by the DBT to work on the project entitled “Role of norepinephrine on mitochondrial iron homeostasis in astroglial cell”.
Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the following positions on purely temporary basis out of the DBT-BUILDER project in the School of Life Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Those who applied earlier need not apply again.
Post No. 2: Project Assistant (one post)
Consolidated Emoluments - 21000/- plus 24% HRA as per rules.
Age limit:- 35 years
Job Description: The selected candidate will be expected to perform all assigned tasks including handling of scientific equipments, participate in organizing laboratory training programmes, preparation and coordination of work reports, record keeping etc.
Essential Qualification: Candidates having a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline of life sciences with at least 55% marks are eligible to apply.
Desirable Qualification: Candidates must be proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Office and preparation of reports etc. Candidates must have hands-on experience of operating any scientific equipment/s of high value available in life sciences laboratories.‘Experience certificate’ from a previous employer is required in support of the work experience.

Post No. 3: Project Associate (one post)
Consolidated Emoluments: 31000 p.m. plus 24% HRA as per rules
Age limit: Preferably 40 years
Job Description: The selected candidate will be expected to perform all assigned tasks primarily for operating scientific equipments including FACS/Confocal microscopy/Fluorescence microscopy, participate in organizing laboratory training programmes. The candidate will also be expected to participate in preparation and coordination of work reports, participate in purchase of items, record keeping etc.
Essential Qualification: Candidates having M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences/Allied disciplines from a recognized university or equivalent with at least 55% marks are eligible to apply.
- Candidates must ascertain eligibility before applying. Applications of ineligible candidates will be rejected.
- Candidates may apply to more than one post.
- The selection committee will shortlist candidates based on the experience, qualifications and the suitability for the project, and only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.
- A detailed CV must be attached.
- Incomplete application and lack of supporting educational/experience certificates will be rejected. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier and the same can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority for the duration of the project.
- Only soft copy of the application as Google Form only will be accepted. A single pdf file, consisting of cover letter, CV/biodata, with latest photograph, experience certificates and all documents including self- attested soft copies of mark-sheets, degree certificates from Class X onwards must be uploaded as a single PDF.
