Laboratory outline: Evaluating plant development from the climate change perspective. This plant biology lab is engaged in
understand the molecular mechanism of flowering time control and its cross talk with phytohormone pathway. Towards this
goal, we optimized the use of a model non-flowering bryophyte and flowering plants such as Arabidopsis, Rice and Mungbean.
We have identified several molecular features that is conserved and also contrasting between the evolution of flowering land
plants. We are also putting a step ahead to understand the temperature compensation mechanism that cross-talk with the light
signaling and circadian clock. The selected candidate is expected to finish the some of the still unpublished work in this area or
plant biology research. (Lab homepage: https://www.niser.ac.in/users/panigrahi)
