Candidates are invited to appear for Interviews (walk-in) for the following temporary posts for the Project entitled “Translocation and Rehabilitation of True Corals from the Demarcated Route, Proposed for Laying Oil Pipeline by IOCL at Narara, Gujarat”, termed for three years. The posting is at Jamnagar/Vadinar, Gujarat. The job requirements primarily include studies on coral reefs, translocation, rehabilitation and monitoring of corals at the Gulf of Kachchh. Candidates having experience in Swimming/ SCUBA Diving will be preferred. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The incumbent will not have any claim for regular appointment in ZSI/GOI. 

Research Associate - I (RA-I) 1 (ONE) 

Ph.D. in Zoology/ Marine Biology/ Marine Biology and Oceanography / Wildlife Biology/ Life Science or Equivalent degree from a UGC recognized University. (Or) M.Sc./ M. Phil. in Zoology/ Marine Biology/ Marine Biology and Oceanography / Wildlife Biology/ Life Science or Equivalent degree with a minimum 60% aggregate mark from a recognized University and with a minimum of three years of working experience as SRF in any research projects preferably on coral restoration. 

At least two research papers in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) Journal. Research experience in the marine environment and working experience in remote Islands. 

Experience in any coral reef restoration activities for at least two years Advanced Open-water SCUBA certification (PADI) with at least 100 logged dives. Working knowledge of report writing /manuscript preparation. 

Rs. 58,000 per month + eligible HRA (for Ph.D. holders) or Rs. 47,000 per month + eligible HRA (for M.Sc., holders with relevant experience) 

Duration: Initially for one year and may be extended for two more years depending on the candidate's performance. 

Date and Place of Interview: Walk-in Interviews will be held at 10.30 hrs. on 12.10.2023 at Marine Biology Regional Centre, Zoological Survey of India, 130, Santhome High Road, Chennai-600028.

Note: The appointment shall be immediate due to the necessity to start the work immediately. 

Senior Project Fellow 2 (TWO) 

M.Sc. / M.Phil. in Zoology/ Marine Biology/ Marine Biology and Oceanography / Wildlife Biology / Life Science / Marine Biotechnology / Aquatic Biology / Biosciences / Life Science or Equivalent degree with minimum of 60% aggregate mark from a recognized University. 

Minimum two years of working experience as JRF/ JPF in research projects. Research experience in the marine environment and working experience in remote Islands. 

Experience in swimming. Working knowledge of Computer. Experience in report writing/ manuscript preparation. Open-water / Advanced Open-water SCUBA Diving license. 

Rs.28,000/- per month + eligible HRA 

Junior Project Fellow 2 (TWO) 

M.Sc. in Zoology / Marine Biology / Marine Biology and Oceanography / Wildlife Biology / Marine Biotechnology / Aquatic Biology / Biosciences / Life Science or Equivalent degree with minimum of 55% aggregate mark from a recognised University. Experience in SCUBA Diving / Swimming. Working knowledge in Computer. 

Working experience in coral reef-related projects. 

Rs.25,000/- per month + eligible HRA 

General Instructions: 

1. The age of candidates appearing, preferably, should be within 35 years as of 30th September 2023 for RA-I: for SPF – 32; for JPF and FCA – 28. The upper age limitation will be relaxed up to 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories and three years in case of candidates belonging to OBC category. The Upper age limits and percentage of marks may be relaxed considering their previous experience. 
2. Candidates should attend the walk-in interview on the date mentioned. A duly filled-in application (given below) with all their original educational qualification, experience certificates, proof of date of birth, etc., and a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the present employer (if employed) should be submitted while attending the walk-in interview.
