Applications are invited from motivated and eligible Indian citizens for the position of Project Assistant in the SERB-SURE sponsored research project entitled “Human hair waste for fabricating sustainable nanofiber for tissue engineering applications”, under the supervision of Principal Investigator (PI) Dr. Paulomi Ghosh, Assistant Professor, Institute of Health Sciences, Presidency University, Kolkata.
Date, Time, and Venue of Interview: Monday, January 29, 2024. The interview will be conducted in online mode from 11:30 am onwards. Google Meet Link will be sent to the shortlisted candidate.

ii) a 400-word research statement including any past research experience and motivation for this project
iii) name and email id or phone number of at least one referee, who can provide feedback on their academic background, to the PI (paulomi.ihs@presiuniv.ac.in) before January 28, 2024.
The candidates also need to send scanned copies of their mark sheets/certificates and a Government-issued photo identity proof. The shortlisted applicants will be notified by email.
Minimum Educational Qualifications Required: MSc/MS/BS-MS or equivalent in Biochemistry. Qualification in the National Eligibility Test as per DST-SERB regulations.The following qualifications are desirable but not mandatory:
a) Previous research experience in a project related to biomaterials.
b) Evidence of good oral and written communication skills in English through presentation.
Job description: The fellow will contribute to the extraction of bio-polymer using green chemistry which can be used to fabricate biomaterials. The fellow will take part in publishing the scientific findings in reputed peer-reviewed international journals. He/she is encouraged to set up collaborations with other members of the department at Presidency University.
Enrolling for Ph.D.: The selected candidate may be allowed to enroll for Ph.D. program as per university rules.
Duration of project: Three years.
Tenure of Assignment: Three years subject to the availability of funds by the funding agency.
Fellowship/Salary: Rs. 20000 + Rs. 5400 (HRA) = Rs. 25400 per month

1. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
