CIBA Chennai Fish Genetics Project Walk IN


Applications are invited from eligible candidates for recruitment of Young Professional - II (one Post), for the “Development of indigenous shrimp (Indian white shrimp Aquaculture: Genetic improvement program of Penaeus indicus, Phase - I” under funded project of this institute. 

Duration March 2025 or closure of the project 

Fellowship Pay@ Rs.42,000 /- per month (Consolidated) 

Essential qualification M.F.Sc in Fish Genetics & Breeding or Fish Health or Aquaculture or Fish Nutrition including Bio chemistry; M.Tech (Biotechnology) or any professional Degree in Molecular Biology or Bio technology with 5 years Integrated Degree or Masters in Zoology or Marine Science or Branch of Aquaculture or Biotechnology or Genetics with 2 years work experience in shrimp aquaculture including hatchery or disease diagnostics through university or Institute or public funded Institute projects or limited company. 

Desirable Working knowledge and experience in molecular biology, disease diagnostics, disease screening of OIE listed shrimp pathogens and molecular techniques. Technical skill in artificial insemination, induced maturation of penaeid shrimps 

Nature of work Shrimp breeding, hatchery management, algal feed maintenance, shrimp nursery and grow out rearing. Disease screening of OIE listed fish/shrimp pathogens using real time PCR screening. Laboratory analysis of samples, project related research works as will be assigned from time to time 

Age Limit Maximum 35 years for men and 40 years for women as on date of interview. Age limits are relaxable for SC / ST / OBC candidates as per rules.
