Principal Investigator: Dr. Punit Prasad, Scientist-E, ILS, Bhubaneswar
Projects Title: (ICMR funded project) “Understanding human gut microbiome and its integration with immune profile
and antimicrobial resistance incidence in pre, during, and post-COVID-19 subject cohorts using omics approach”.
Position: 1. Project Research Scientist-I: Wet lab (Non-Medical) (01 position)
Remuneration: Rs. 56,000/- per month + @16% HRA
Essential qualification: First class post graduate degree including the integrated PG degrees OR second class post graduate
degree including the integrated PG degree with Ph.D. OR for Engineering/ IT/CS-First Class Graduate Degree of 4 years.
Desirable qualification: Individuals with 3 years or more experience in wet lab research
experience will be preferred. Experience in Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) library preparation, handling clinical samples,
working in BLS2/3 labs, experience in molecular biology techniques, etc. are encouraged to apply. Candidates having publications
in indexed journals should upload their publications along with their application.
Job Specification: The person should be responsible for NGS library preparation, running the Illumina/Nanopre sequencer for
clinical and non-clinical samples.
Age Limit: The candidate should be below 35 years in age, as on 28th February 2024.
Age relaxation will be given to the
candidates as per Govt. of India rules.
Position: 2. Project Research Scientist I Bioinformatics (Non-Medical) (02 positions)
Remuneration: Rs. 56,000/- per month + @16% HRA
Essential qualification: First class post graduate degree including the integrated PG degrees OR second class post graduate
degree including the integrated PG degree with Ph.D. OR for Engineering/ IT/CS-First Class Graduate Degree of 4 years.
Desirable qualification: Candidates having knowledge of NGS data analysis, for example 16S, metagenome, RNA-seq, ATACseq, etc. along with experience in programming R-Bioconducter, Python will be preferred. A brief write up (one page maximum)
explaining, bioinformatics research experience and publications (if any) should be submitted along with the application.
Job Specification: The person should be responsible for analyzing next-generation sequencing data.
Age Limit: The candidate should be below 35 years in age, as on 28th February 2024. Age relaxation will be given to the
candidates as per Govt. of India rules.
Selection will be carried out through application screening, followed by an interview process.
N.B.: The list of shortlisted candidates' names and the date of interview will be published on the ILS website.
All the positions are purely temporary and coterminous with the project.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The
decision of the Director regarding the selection of candidates will be final and no further correspondence will be entertained in
this regard.
