Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary positions of one
Project Associate-I (PA-I) in the scheme of “Short-Term Research Fellowship”, NIPGR under the
supervision of Dr. Shiv Kumar Meena, Scientist, NIPGR. Emoluments will be at par with similar
fellowships by DBT/DST and NIPGR fellowship norms.
Name of Position: Project Associate-I (PA-I) - 01 post.
Upper age limit: 35 years
Eligibility: Highly motivated candidates having M.Sc. degree or equivalent (with minimum 60% marks
or equivalent) in Life Sciences/ Botany/ Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology or any other
related field with NET-JRF or those who fulfill the criteria mentioned in the DST Office
Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated July 10, 2020 are eligible to apply.
Project Description: Selected candidate will work towards the experimental characterization of
antisense long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) in plants. The candidate will extensively employ
experimental and in silico RNA biology methods to functionally elucidate in planta role(s) and molecular
mechanism(s) of select antisense lncRNAs in plants using Arabidopsis thaliana as model system.
Desirable: Previous knowledge of experimental RNA Biology/Plant pathology/mycology, GreenGate
cloning, and plant molecular biology techniques.
The position is purely temporary and is co-terminus with the scheme. The initial appointment will be for
one year, which can be extended/curtailed on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance
and discretion of the Competent Authority.
NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidates against
the above posts depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidates. Reservation of post
shall be as per Government of India norms. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving
one month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration
against any regular position of NIPGR.

and time of the online interview will be e-mailed to the shortlisted candidates. The candidates must
ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. Canvassing in
any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to the disqualification of the candidate.
