Job Summary:
Phytochemical characterization of plant extracts and foods.
Plant & Food phytoprofiling / metabolite profiling and composition analysis
Writing reports and suggesting future directions.
Writing scientific publications
Teaching courses & workshops
Qualification: MSc in Chemistry, Plant Science, Food Science, Biotechnology, Biology or allied sciences
Experience: Research experience in Masters.
MANDATORY: Specific experience with respect to working on Botanicals, analytical instruments and developing Phytochemistry methodologies.
Skills:
Method development and operation of HPLC, GC-MS, HPTLC and other analytical tools
Bioinformatics for metabolite profiling using targeted & untargeted LC-MS, GC-MS, NMR
Phytochemistry & food chemistry methods for extracting & separating molecules for analysis
Ability to think logically and critically from a science perspective
Good literature search capabilities
Experimental design
Report writing
Delivering with others
Team working
Job Responsibilities:
Characterising plant & food extracts using targeted & untargeted analytical methods with special focus on Bacopa monneiri
Networking with biologists and generating biological efficacy in different model assay systems (cell based, C. elegans based, drosophila based) through the biology teams
Networking with product development team and developing new products through them
Operation & maintenance of analytical instruments
Ensuring safety of operations
Writing weekly progress report
Writing manuscripts for publications
Teaching courses & workshops on phytochemistry
