DBT-UDSC Partnership Centre Recruits Project Personnel

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up purely temporary positions in the DBT multiinstitutional project entitled “DBT-UDSC Partnership Centre on Genetic Manipulation of Brassicas-Phase-II”, under the supervision of Dr. Naveen C. Bisht, Scientist, NIPGR. The details are as under: 

1. Research Associate-I (2 posts): Emoluments @ INR 58,000+ 24% HRA. per month as sanctioned in the project. 

 Qualification: Candidates having a doctorate (Ph.D) degree in Life Sciences or equivalent with a good publication record and fulfilling the DST/DBT guidelines are eligible to apply. The candidate should have excellent experience (>2 years) in plant molecular biology, plant genomics, and plant tissue culture in crop species. 

Prior experience in performing Brassica transformations, molecular analysis and phenotyping of transgenic and genome-editing events is highly desirable. 


2. Senior Research Fellow (2 posts): 

Emoluments @ INR 42,000 +24% HRA per month as sanctioned in the project. 

Qualification: Candidates having M.Sc./M.Tech degree (with minimum 60% marks) in Life Sciences/Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/Molecular Biology or a related field duly supported with at least two years of research experience after receiving M.Sc/M.Tech degree and fulfilling the DST/DBT guidelines are eligible to apply. 

The candidate with prior work experience in plant tissue culture, plant metabolism, and publication records will be preferred. 


3. Project Assistant (1 post): Emoluments @ INR 20,000 +24% HRA per month as sanctioned in the project. 

Upper Age Limit: 50 Years 

Qualification: The candidate having B.Sc. degree / 3 years’ diploma in Engineering and Technology and fulfilling the DST/DBT guidelines are eligible to apply. 

Essential: The candidate having at least two years of working experience in field-related work including growing and maintaining Brassica and Arabidopsis plants will be preferred. 

Candidate should be well versed in lab cleaning, autoclaving, and general media preparation. The candidate should have good knowledge of computers and typing in English for recording field data on a day-to-day basis. 


4. Field worker (2 posts): Emoluments @ INR 18,000 +24% HRA per month as sanctioned in the project. 

Upper Age Limit: 50 Years 

Qualification: The candidate having a Graduate degree in any discipline and fulfilling the DST/DBT guidelines are eligible to apply. 

Essential: The candidate having working experience in field-related work including growing and maintaining crop plants will be preferred. Candidate with prior experience in a research lab and working with Brassica crops will be given preference. 


The above positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship amount for the above positions is as sanctioned in the project and as per DST/DBT norms. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier and the same can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. 

NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated any time by giving one month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR. 

Self-attested copies of the mark sheets, certificates (10th standard onwards) and proof of experience should be uploaded as a single PDF with the application. The last date of application is on or before 15 days after the release of the advertisement on the NIPGR website. The candidates must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed.
