A PhD position is open in the laboratory headed by Dr. Anil Kumar Verma, Assistant Professor at the Department of Microbiology, Sikkim University (https://cus.ac.in/index.php/en/department-of-microbiology-e/dr-anil-kumar-verma-e). The laboratoy focuses on experimentally addressing fundamental problems in Carbohydrate Active Enzyme based degradation of Lignocellulose.
The reseach lab works on different aspect of industrially valuable microbial enzymes/ novel strain, their structure functional relationship, molecular cloning and site-directed mutagenesis for enhancing the efficiency. State-of-the art and advanced methodologies are applied in a healthy professional research environment.
Eligibility In order to meet the general entry requirements, the minimum requirements are:
i. The applicant must have been declared eligible in Category A/Category B/Category C in UGC-NET or equivalent examination (CSIR/ICMR/DBT/ICAR-NET,CEED, GATE) and
ii. Completed a 2-year Master’s programme in Microbiology or related field with minimum of 55% mark (50% marks for SC/ST/OBC, DA & EWS) OR
Completed a 1-year Master’s programme (after 4-year Bachelor’s programme under NEP-2020) in Microbiology or related field with minimum of 55% mark (50% marks for SC/ST/OBC, DA & EWS) OR Completed a 4-year bachelor’s degree with research with a minimum CGPA of 7.5 (75%) in a point scale
