Advertisement for Visiting Faculty and Adjunct Faculty
I. Applications are invited for the position of Visiting Faculty and Adjunct Faculty from reputed
industries, R&D Institutions, National/International Institutes/ Universities. The aim of this
position is to promote excellence in teaching, research, development Institution-Industry
networks and to facilitate interactions.

professionals possessing excellent experience/Research background with commitment and
passion for quality teaching and potential for pursing cutting-edge research are encouraged to
apply.
Duties:
i. Design, Development and offer contextual market-need based courses
ii. Mentoring students to take-up innovative and enterprising Projects.
iii. Connect students to appropriate industry and stakeholders.
iv. Create opportunities and develop institute-industry collaborations
v. Explore, Develop and create Research Ecosystem and fetch funded projects.
IV. Modes of Engagement & Eligibility
1 Visiting Faculty:(Professor/ Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor)
1.1 Categories of Engagement from: (i) Research (ii) Academia
1.2 Objective:
Eminent Researchers and Academicians from renowned R&D organization and Institutes of
National importance/ International universities holding permanent post and having minimum 15
years of professional experience. The visiting faculty would spend full time in the Institute,
involving in Research/ mentoring and interacting with faculty and students. The visiting faculty
positions can be offered at Professor/ Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor levels based on
qualification and experience.
1.3 Eligibility:
Eminent scientists, engineers, other professionals working in renowned R&D organizations and
faculty members from the institutes of National/ international Importance holding permanent
post or retired are eligible to apply.
Retired persons will also be considered, except for faculty retired from MANIT Bhopal.
1.4 Qualifications and experience:
It will be same as those of regular faculty recruitment as per prevailing RR norms (copy enclosed),
for the levels of Professor/ Associate/ Assistant Professor Levels respectively.
2 Adjunct Faculty: (Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor)
2.1 Objective:
Eminent Researchers and Academicians from renowned R&D organization and Institutes of National
importance/ International universities holding permanent post and having minimum 15 years of
professional experience. The adjunct faculty would spend short durations at NIT Bhopal on regular
intervals with defined commitments. The adjunct faculty positions can be offered at Professor/
Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor levels based on qualification and experience.
2.2 Eligibility:
Eminent scientists ,engineers, other professionals working in renowned R&D organizations and
faculty members from the institutes of National/ international Importance holding permanent post
are eligible to apply.
Retired persons will also be considered, except for faculty retired from MANIT Bhopal.
2.3 Qualifications and experience:
It will be same as those of regular faculty recruitment as per prevailing RR norms (copy enclosed),
for the levels of Professor/ Associate/ Assistant Professor Levels respectively.
V. Duration, Position, honorarium and allowance:
a. Duration of the assignment:
Initially 1 year, extended up to 3 years or up to the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier. The extension
after 1 year will be based on performance and on the recommendation of the committee. In case of
multiple visits, each visit shall be of minimum one week.
b. Position:
i. Adjunct Faculty and Visiting Faculty: Depending on the years of experience, the person
may be offered the position of Professor/ Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor of
Practice.
Retired persons will also be considered, except for faculty retired from MANIT Bhopal.
c. Honorarium:
i. Visiting Faculty: The monthly honorarium will be INR1.2 Lakhs, 1.0 Lakhs and 0.8 lakhs
respectively for Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor. Pay protection
will be done for in- office serving candidates. In case of retired Government Servants
(under old pension scheme), the remuneration shall be last basic pay drawn minus
pension.
ii. Adjunct Faculty:
(a) They shall receive no salary, fee nor any other compensation for their services.
All direct expenses such as travel, accommodation, preparation of lecture material etc
shall be reimbursed at actuals.
(b) Adjunct faculty may receive financial support at the discretion of the director
to attend conferences in India or abroad for presenting their work done in the institute,
if in the opinion of the director, he has contributed significantly to the institute’s
academic programme.
d. Reimbursement of expenses: Applicable expenses incurred up to INR 20,000 shall be reimbursed
on monthly basis.
e. TDS: will be applicable as per GoI rules.
f. Accommodation: As per institute norms, subject to availability.
Selection Process:
• All appointment shall be made by the Director, based on the recommendations of a duly
constituted screening cum selection committee.
• The extension after 1 year will be based on performance and on the recommendation of the
committee after rigorous review.
• Director has the right to consider applications of exceptionally good candidates not falling in the
above-mentioned criteria.
• Persons appointed as Visiting Faculty/ Adjunct Faculty will have no right or claim for regular
appointment or continuance of the post in NIT Bhopal.
• Director has the right to terminate the positions at any stage, circumstances.
Interested and eligible persons may submit the hard copy of the application form along with relevant
documents including Curriculum Vitae, list of patents/ copy rights/ important publications, specific
mention about contributions made to teaching/ training, research, design, projects, industrial links etc. to

preferably on or before 31.01.2025 through Speed Post/Registered Post. This may include a brief
teaching and research statement for MANIT Bhopal.
The name of the post and department/centre must be super-scribed “Post applied for [name of the post]
Department/centre [Name of the department]” clearly on the envelope without fail.
