The Institute for Stem Cell Science & Regenerative Medicine (www.instem.res.in), Bangalore is an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. BRIC-inStem’s mandate is to establish collaborative research programs in the field of stem cell biology, regeneration, and repair in development and disease, with an emphasis on translation. To develop strengths in focused areas, research at BRIC-inStem is driven through collaborative interdisciplinary teams, addressing questions that are beyond the scope of a single laboratory. 

BRIC-inStem invites applications (in online mode) from eligible candidates for contractual position of following Scientific position in the laboratory of Dr. Bhavana Muralidharan, inStem Bangalore. We are looking for dedicated professionals who are result-oriented, can assimilate, analyze and communicate data effectively and are excellent team players capable of working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment. Project Associate 

Rs 25,000/m + 27% HRA

Essential Qualification Master’s degree in Science from a recognised university 

This position is available in the lab of Dr. Bhavana Muralidharan, who studies brain development in health and disease. One of the candidates will work with Dr. Kruttika Phalnikar, a DBT Wellcome Trust Early Career fellow. The ideal candidate should be proficient in working with stem cell and mammalian cell culture, mouse brain, basic and advanced molecular biology techniques such as cloning, transfection and epigenetic analysis. Additional skills include confocal/fluorescent microscopy. The candidate should possess excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational and planning abilities, and a demonstrated record of scientific productivity. The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team is essential. 

Tenure: Contractual appointment for 11 months, renewable based on requirement and review of progress and requirement of the Grant.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in bioinformatics, with demonstrated expertise in analyzing next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, including single-cell transcriptomics. Proven ability to develop and implement computational pipelines for large-scale data analysis. Expert in bioinformatic analysis of high-throughput sequencing data, with specialization in single-cell transcriptomics and spatial transcriptomics platforms. Proficient in developing custom code and computational pipelines for analyzing next-generation sequencing (NGS) datasets
