NBPGR Germplasm Evaluation Project Walk INs

 Applications are invited to attend an Interview (walk-in/ online through video conferencing) for the following posts in two sub-projects under the DBT-funded network project “Leveraging genetic resources for accelerated genetic improvement of Linseed using comprehensive genomics and phenotyping approaches” at ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR), New Delhi. The eligible candidates are requested to send their application form along with a scanned copy of the original documents in a single PDF file through email to linseedproject@gmail.com by 8th June, 2025. After screening the applications, only shortlisted candidates will be informed of further details regarding the interview by email and phone. Original documents of the candidates appearing for the walk-in interview will be verified on the interview date, and for the candidates appearing for the online interview, will be verified at a later stage. The positions are temporary and co-terminus with the project.

Sub-project 1: Phenotyping of entire linseed germplasm collection conserved at National Genebank (NGB) for agro-morphological traits- (Component 1). 

Name of PI: Dr. Vikender Kaur, Senior Scientist, Division of Germplasm Evaluation, ICAR-NBPGR. 

Project Assistant 02 (two) 

Rs. 20000/ + 27% HRA 

Essential qualification: Graduation in Life Sciences/ Botany/ Agriculture/ Bioinformatics/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science or equivalent. 

Desirable Qualification: Experience in field crops/ laboratory work, handling of office documents, basic knowledge of computer and data entry, etc. 

One year (01.03.2025 to 28.02.2026) 

Sub-project 5: Evaluation of linseed germplasm for major abiotic stresses- Drought and Salt Stress – (Component 1) 

Name of PI: Dr. Vikender Kaur, Senior Scientist, Division of Germplasm Evaluation, ICAR-NBPGR. 

Project Associate I 01 (one) 

(i) Rs. 31000/- + 27% HRA (for scholars who are selected through CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship or GATE) or a selection process through National Level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments/Agenci es/ Institutions. (ii) Rs. 25000/- + 27% HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.

Essential qualification: Master’s degree in Genetics/ Plant Breeding/ Genetics & Plant breeding/ Agriculture/ Botany/ Life sciences/ Biotechnology from a recognized university or equivalent. 

Desirable Qualification: Experience in phenotyping of crop for the morphophenological and physiological traits and data analysis.

One year (01.03.2025 to 28.02.2026) 

Field Worker 01 

Rs. 18000/- + 27% HRA 

Essential qualification: Graduate degree in any discipline. 

Desirable Qualification: Knowledge of Microsoft Office 

One year (01.03.2025 to 28.02.2026)

Name of PI: Dr. Mamta Singh, Scientist (Senior Scale), Division of Germplasm Evaluation, ICARNBPGR. 

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) 01 (one) 

Rs. 37000/- + 27% HRA 

Essential qualification: Master degree in Genetics/ Plant Breeding/ Genetics & Plant breeding/ Agriculture/ Botany/ Life sciences/ Biotechnology with 4/ 5 years of Bachelor's from a recognized university. OR Post-graduate degree in above mentioned subjects with 3 years Bachelor's degree and 2 years Master's degree with NET/GATE qualifications. 

Desirable Qualification: Candidate understanding plant breeding trials, experience of handling field crops and populations, crossing techniques and research experience in molecular biology would be desired.

One year (01.03.2025 to 28.02.2026) 

Age Limit: The upper age limit for the post of JRF/Project Associate-I is 35 years as on the date of advertisement. The upper age limit for Project Assistant and Field Worker is 50 years as on the date of advertisement. Age limits are relaxable for 5 years for SC/ ST/ female candidates, upto 10 years for differently abled candidates and 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates as per Govt. of India norms
