WALK-IN-INTERVIEW on September 17, 2025 (Wednesday) at 10:30 a.m. onwards for the post of One Research Associate- I and One Project Associate- I 

Candidates are invited to appear before selection committee in the walk-in-interview for filling up the purely temporary position of one Research Associate- I and one Project Associate-I, in the Gates foundation funded project entitled “Development of climate resilient chickpea and brassica by gene editing”, under the supervision of Dr. SenthilKumar Muthappa, Scientist, NIPGR. 

Research Associate-I (One Post) 

Emoluments: ₹ 58,000/- plus 27% HRA per month. 

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates having a PhD degree in life science with strong publication record in the areas mentioned in this advertisement (at least one research paper in SCI journal) can apply. 

The project work requires prior work experience in chickpea-pathogen interaction studies. Further, experience in chickpea transformation is preferable. 

Project Associate-I (One post) 

Emoluments: ₹ 25,000/- plus 27% HRA per month. 

Eligibility: Candidates having Master’s degree in Life Sciences with at least 55% (or equivalent) marks can apply. 

The project work requires experience of working with genetic transformation and gene editing. Further, experience in working with chickpea is preferable. 

The project is aimed to develop gene edited chickpea plants. The above positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. 

The fellowship/emolument amount for the above positions are as sanctioned in the project and as per NIPGR/DBT/DST norms. 

The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier and the same can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. 

NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated any time by giving one-month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR. 

Eligible candidates may appear for walk-in-interview at BRIC-National Institute of Plant Genome Research (BRIC-NIPGR), Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi – 110 067 on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. onwards along with the duly filled in application form in the prescribed format. The duly filled application form along with self-attested copies of the date of birth, educational & experience certificates must be submitted at the time of registration at BRIC-NIPGR from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Sep 17, 2025. 

Any candidate reporting after 11:00 a.m. will not be entertained for walkin interview. The candidates must ascertain eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with complete bio-data in given format and original degree/experience certificates and transcripts for verification. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to the disqualification of the candidate(s). 

Note: Incomplete application and those in the wrong format will be summarily rejected. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in-interview.
